Behavioral Threat Assessment Management for Healthcare Emergency Managers
Behavioral Threat Assessment Management (BTAM) is a process for investigating, assessing, and managing behaviors to prevent or manage targeted violence. This pre-conference session and the accompanying pre-requisites will prepare healthcare emergency managers to participate in and/or begin the formation of a BTAM team. The training will include lecture, case-studies, and interactive discussions, designed to provide participants with a strong base for participating in BTAM teams.
This session is NOT about patient management. Rather, it is about threats posed from disgruntled employees, angry family members, abusive spouses and others.
There is a required pre-requisite developed by the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center: Intro to BTAM. This training consists of three required modules and one optional module. The three required modules are free and should take approximately an hour and a half to complete. They do not need to be completed in one sitting.
· Module One: Intro to BTAM
· Module Two: Introduction to the Pathway to Violence and BTAM Steps
· Module Three: Risk Factors & Online Activity
